日本昔ばなしシリーズ　笠地蔵

Once upon a time, poor and kind elder man went down to a town to sell bamboo hats to earn and get food for the new year.

The man worked so hard but the bamboo hats wern’t sold at all.

In the way to home, the man put the bamboo hats on the Jizo which stand on the way to the town and snow was on.

While the couple ware sleeping, Jizo came to ther house to send a lot of food ,and they noticed these and enjoyed the new year.

1,単語　once upon a time むかしむかし

日本の昔話の絵本やアニメで必ずと言っていいほど頻繁に使われているこの言い回しは海外でも使われています。

例文）Once upon a time,an elder woman washed clothes on the river.

昔々、年配のばあちゃんが川で洗濯をしていました。

2,単語　hard 一生懸命

英語の勉強をしていない人でも知っていそうな簡単な単語です。副詞と呼ばれる家族で名詞以外の家族に対応する単語です。また他の副詞にhardlyというものがありますがこれを一生懸命、と訳すると間違いで答えは『滅多に』という否定の意味が込められている副詞です。

例文）I passed last exam because I studied so hard.

めっちゃ勉強したので前の試験に合格しました。

3, 熟語 not at all 全く〜ない

否定を意味するnot に強調を意味するat allを組み合わせた熟語です。at allはnotと組み合わせてなんぼだ、という方もいるかもしれませんがat all(強調を意味する副詞)も単独で行動できます。例えばShe was kind peron at all.彼女はとにかく優しいやつだった。

例文）My teacher was hard just on me at all.

私の先生はとにかく私だけに厳しかった。

4,名詞 couple 夫婦

ほとんどの方が付き合っている二人組としてこの単語を知っていると思いますが、一般的な夫婦のこともcoupleと言います。他の夫婦の訳し方はhusband and wife です。

例文）When I got married,I wanna be like that couple.

結婚したらあんな夫婦みたいになりたい。
