日本昔ばなしシリーズ　狸のしょう油造り

Gen-chan who creates soy-sauce in daytime and takes care of his baby in nighttime often served left meal to animal which Gen-chan thought is dogs.

One day while Gen-tyan was making soy-sauce,he heard from one of his child and it was taht his wie is about to give birth and he went to his house right away although he can’t be lazy about making soy-sauce.

The other two men got to sleep after creating it but for Gen-chan and they found raccoons in midnight because of their voice.

Gen-chan heard that,so he was wating until midnight to see them making it and he was very thankful for them and the sight.

1,熟語　take care of 〜の世話をする

中学校くらいで習う簡単な熟語です。見覚えがある人も多いと思います。

例文）Instead of my mother,father took care of baby.

母の代わりに、父が赤ちゃんの世話をしました。

2,熟語　here from 〜から便りがある

fromの後には人が来ることが多いでしょう。また、便りは古臭いので連絡とかに変えても大丈夫です。

例文）I haven’t heard from my son  recently.

息子から最近連絡がない

3,熟語　but for 〜なしで 〜を除いて

wihtoutの 熟語版です。except forと勘違いするかもしれませんがこの熟語の意味は〜以外にと訳します。例文はEverybody got B except for you.あなた以外のみんながBをとった。似ているので勘違いしないようにしましょう。

例文）I can’t live but for you.

あなたなしでは生きていけない。

4,文法　前置詞　until　〜まで

byとの違いにつて違いがわかりにくいです。理由は日本語で訳すると一文字足すだけだし、役割もどことなく似ているからです。簡単に違いをいうとuntilは期間を表し幅があり、byは限界を表し一点を指します。

例文）I can stay here until this December.

私は12月まで(ずっと)ここに滞在できます。
